What Is It?
The JBS Farm Assurance Program is one of the world's most comprehensive on-farm management systems. Established in 2011, it's been developed to give you and your customers total confidence in our Great Southern beef & lamb programs with respect to animal welfare, our raising claims, food safety, and quality.
Our beef brands -- Great Southern, Great Southern Pinnacle, Little Joe, & Portoro -- all fall under the JBS Farm Assurance Program.
The program and its claims are all independently certified by a third party who is accredited to the ISO 17065, the world standard for farm assurance.
To qualify for the program, every Great Southern farmer must undergo an extensive audit process & follow up every 18 months, ensuring impartiality and credibility. These rigorous audits examine:

The 7 Pillars of Sustainability
The 7 pillars of sustainability are crucial to JBS Farm Assurance, as they ensure environmental stewardship, animal welfare, and community well-being.
Created in 2021, this framework guides practices in soil health, water management, and carbon reduction to align with consumer expectations.
PASTURES
Healthy and fertile pastures feed and support the growth of high-quality grass-fed, grass-finished livestock, while promoting soil biodiversity, carbon sequestration, and water filtration.
SOILS
A healthy soil structure cultivates nutritious pastures that last longer, reduce run-off, promote carbon sequestration, and support rich soil biodiversity.
WATER
Access to clean and sufficient drinking water is crucial for animal welfare. Additionally, conserving water aids in drought mitigation and supports the biodiversity of local water sources, plants, and wildlife.
ANIMAL WELFARE
